Calling all Mii's... it's Tomodachi time!!!

Nintendo contacted us around 8:30am this morning to fill us in on the new "Tomodachi Life" game available for the first time in North America (the franchise is over 5.5million copies strong in Japan), and this is basically a Mii centered game that may remind some of EA Sims games with voices (voices that may remind some of you of the pimp from Saints Row 3 when they sing). The game is... far-fetched... and should grab the interest of people that like to create Mii characters of their friends, family, and just about anyone else they can imagine and would like for their Mii to interact with on the island. The more Miis the crazier things (supposedly) get, but don't get this game expecting EA Sims, get it expecting what Nintendo is bringing to the table.

The game will be released on the 3DS & 2DS for $34.99 (though I think it would sell like hotcakes at $25).


We've said it before, and we will say it again, EA can be replaced in terms of certain game genres... they still have a chance on Nintendo platforms but if games (no matter if they are 1st party or other 3rd party companies) are created that happen to fill the void where EA was known to be... it may be hard for them to come back and fill that space again. Cookie cutter games would suck, but games of a similar genre can impact the impressions of many.

I doubt they would be turned away though if they come correct, and we wouldn't want them to be turned away (on that note)... more games for us.


New Championship Mode brings on the nostalgia in NES Remix 2

April 25th (2014) marks the launch of NES Remix 2's launch on the Wii U (in the Nintendo eShop), and the the championship mode will likely gain more than a few competitors trying to 1UP eachother (pun SOOOOO intended).

What games can you expect in this mode(?)... well, beyond Super Mario Bros., there will also be Super Mario Bros. 3 and Dr. Mario to challenge players in successive score-based challenges. Scores are able to be posted on Miiverse in the name of competition... and I like that you can do this with Miiverse because it increases the replay value in games that aren't exactly online multiplayers. Anyway... game on!
