BFG | The Oct 2014 Net Neutrality plan is not good enough

Tom Wheeler is the wrong person for the job, if he thinks this "Hybrid Approach" will work for anyone except the Cable Companies & ISPs seeking a change.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

The plan now under consideration would separate broadband into two distinct services: a retail one, in which consumers would pay broadband providers for Internet access; and a back-end one, in which broadband providers serve as the conduit for websites to distribute content. The FCC would then classify the back-end service as a common carrier, giving the agency the ability to police any deals between content companies and broadband providers.

The internet won't be the same if the FCC lets cable/isp companies get their way. Some of you may look at it and think its a waste of time to speak against, but these companies have lobbyist fighting for them. A lot of this is fueled by internet entertainment stealing the show away from Cable TV but we as people have the right to enjoy what we want, and Internet Service Providers just want a piece of the pie because we access some of these things through their services. Should you not be able to enjoy something because a company doesn't profit from it? What next, charging for the enjoyment to breathe?

We already pay these companies for internet service, but that's not good enough, so they're trying to change Net Neutrality into something that will appear to give us what we want in order to get them what they want.

The focus should be on Faster Internet and prices that don't fluctuate so that people aren't always shopping around due to price hikes and Data Cap overages. The FCC is supposed to work for the people as a whole, not for a select wealthy few who want to make sure they stay on top by any means necessary.
