Sorry, no RE: Revelations 2 for you + You're making gender-equality games? Good for you... but + Yadda Yadda

If you're making gender-equality games, keep this in mind

If your focus will be on gender equality games, that's fine (we think its great)... but don't try to take credit for breaking a mold that has been broken a long time ago. Literally, all that feels like is an attempt to gain money from people by using something commendable for the sake of publicity (don't do that).

I don't care if I'm playing a game starring a male or female character, as long as the game is worth playing. So go forth with gender-equality games... by being sensitive, but make sure that the games are good. There are plenty of gamers that have absolutely enjoyed the crap out of the Tomb Raider reboot & Lara Croft & The Guardian of Light (both of the upcoming sequels are also anticipated by many). Even though Lara didn't break the mold, she was a character that stood out and i'm glad the concept wasn't abandoned (i'm happy the controls are like night & day compared the first games... OMG those were horrible).

If you want the best pre-order deal on Lara Croft & the Temple of Osiris... check it out right here, and get $5 towards your next purchase (especially if you were going to buy the game anyway).

Watch Dogs... Nov. 18th (2014) at full price on Wii U, make us proud Ubisoft Romania

I think the game will gain some sales... "just because", but it must absolutely not be gimmicky while making use of the Wii U's pros. Since Yves Guillemot (Ubisoft's CEO) is planning on this being the last mature title on the console moving forward (based on his interview with gameinformer)... enjoy it if you want it.

I can't blame them (keep in mind a previous topic about actually buying the games so there is a valid reason to make them), because sales are important to keep a business going... but Nintendo will have to keep on pushing hard and being even more open than they currently claim to be in order to drive sales. Increased sales based on the various types of mature titles that Nintendo may release... could increased interest in developers producing titles for the console. At the same time, there are developers that have done things that deserve a lack of sales.

There is plenty to come... it just has to be released at a good pace so that there isn't just a slew of smaller indie titles (this is nothing against indies, we just need a good mix of small, mid, and larger scaled titles), and if Nintendo can't keep up (by making enough games)... it would actually be a good idea to reach out to more developers to further increase the library of games.

Is a game industry crash coming? That's up to the gamers.

Creative risks... are a risk, and unless developers are willing to consider crowd-funding for (out of the box) games, then the financial risk may continue to be a factor that prevents new experiences. Popularity contests can be a problem also, and we've said it before... some gamers won't buy a game unless their friends like it/have it (even if they'd really enjoy that type of game).

I responded to a fellow Nin-Dem's post on a topic about "The 2nd Big Gaming Crash.." by saying:

"When you get a massive amount of support for particular types of games known for doing particular types of things... similar games may happen (just to play it safe). That creates the risk of exhaustion and the possibility of the industry being affected".

Variety isn't a desire of some gamers... who may have grew up playing a certain genre and they stick to that until they get tired of it and feel that all games are alike (if you look hard enough, you may find gamers like this). What's crazy is that some of these gamers are very vocal, very loud... and call the shots for their friends buying decisions, so... if a genre is held as king and everything else is lame according to them, then what other options are there when the king is declared dead?

(The Back Burner version)
Basically... some may tire of getting more of the same thing after ignoring the other options (that may be no longer available because they went out of business) and then "the usual" also ends up in danger of closing their doors because sales have dropped dangerously low.

Since there are options out there other than those held high, consider your options... take a break from a genre you hold near and dear so that you can give it some moderation. That interest in seeking variety... (yep, you guessed it) would contribute to the support of developers truly providing alternate experiences that you may have overlooked. Give it a try, we're even providing variety via Nintendo-Demand... because we're multiple platform gamers also (and it just makes sense).

Developers: Reach out and see what the response is to KickStarters (just don't screw anyone).

Based on some of our past articles... I also should say (to some) "Don't screw anyone else", you know who you are. We won't go back down that road in this article, just go back and take a look at some of the past ones.

WTF, Capcom?! We weren't going to let this slide by... you know that right?

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be released on the following platforms:
PS4
PS3
Xbox One
Xbox 360
Steam
3DS
Wii U

We didn't expect a Wii U release (at least at this time), but there should be something on the 3DS (even if it didn't sell as well as Capcom had hoped it would... it wasn't bad). Actually, the Wii U & 3DS could be the platform for kickstarters... which could land games on the platforms that we wouldn't normally get (based on things mentioned above). A Mario Kart fan actually said that he wouldn't develop a game for a Nintendo system unless it was published by Nintendo... because they feel its so hit miss for other games. Kickstarter is also an opportunity to get other games that may have been desired for awhile (like Shenmue 1&2 HD, and 3).

Nintendo Treehouse: Live... Super Smash Bros 3DS gameplay

Some of you have been asking what our opinion is when it comes to the Super Smash Bros 3DS demo... but Nintendo hasn't provided us with early access. On that note... we have to wait until it's available in the 3DS eShop. Early access to the games you desire feedback for... will require your support since the larger outlets usually get first dibs, and the greater the support the more Nin-Dems can be heard (it would be great to have more of those "WTF?!" questions answered... wouldn't it?).

So spread the word, hashtag #NintendoDemand ...support the shop and all that good stuff [Ka-Pow!].
