Nintendo at WonderCon + Mario Golf Tournaments & More

Its Friday... so its the perfect day to present you with a post that's full of fun... (game on and) enjoy!

Nintendo will be at WonderCon... will you?

Nintendo will be at the Con along with playable games that include some that have yet to be launched... so if you make it, expect to see:

Mario Kart 8 | Wii U
Mario Golf: World Tour | 3DS
Kirby: Triple Deluxe | 3DS
Yoshi's New Island | 3DS
Disney Magical World | 3DS

There may be some other games also available... but on the Wii U thats probably the only game that would matter, and they should have taken this opportunity to host a freaking Mario Kart 8 tournament at the Con. I really think its something that would've created a buzz based on fun factor, especially if someone hasn't played the game before but they are extremely competitive people. Either way... the Con starts today so if you can get out there, be safe and have a great freaking time enjoying all that you can possibly enjoy.

Speaking of tournaments & Mario Golf....

Mario Golf: World Tour features international tournaments that include some from Callaway Golf

Nintendo says that this game will feature robust regional and worldwide online tournaments hosted by Nintendo, as well as custom tournaments we can create ourselves. The tournaments can be accessed through SpotPass... just keep an eye on your notifications for upcoming and available tournaments. Scores for tournaments must be uploaded before the deadline of the events, and players can even monitor progress by checking the leaderboard to see how they stand up to the competition.

The tournaments will vary... ranging from large to smaller competitions, longest-drive challenges, coin-gathering, and all of that good stuff.

Callaway Golf will be hosting its own series of special in-game tournaments beginning May 22nd... and all participants will receive in-game digital Callaway Gold branded golf clubs and (golf) balls that enhance their Mii character stats. Actual winners of the Callaway tournaments (based on the highest submitted score)... will receive in-game coins usable at the Castle Club in Toad's Shop.

Beyond the announced tournaments, players can create public and private communities... which is cool because you can change the settings for more ideal challenges that your community can enjoy. I like that they actually are delivering a full experience here... and i'm not saying that I expected less, but that's great because as usual Nintendo tends to round out their library for each platform making it a great system to own that offers more than a few types of 1st party experiences. Obviously, every single person will not be interested in golf... but there are fans and others who enjoy variety (that would be me).

The game will be released on May 2nd (2014) for $29.99, if you want to try it before you buy it... there is a demo coming on April 24th (2014).
