Koji's departure from Konami may bring us a new 2D Metroid game + Nintendo Indie + A Star Wars MMO on the Wii U?

Koji Igarashi exits Konami... stage left!
Its not a shock to me when someone leaves a developer to pursue their own endeavors (usually) especially if they aren't given the opportunity to pursue those things in their current position. Igarashi-san is known for producing Castlevania, but this isn't the focus of this topic... what he plans to do... is. We're excited because this means one thing... more games, and who knows what type of potentially awesome IPs may come out of this. Some games come out of nowhere and turn into franchises that a lot of gamers couldn't even fathom being without.

Can we expect some games for the Wii U? Maybe, but don't hold your breath... but it would be great if he partnered with Nintendo to create a 2D Metroid eShop title.

I don't want a growing saturated mess of an industry... don't get me wrong, I want solid quality studios producing quality games that vary in scale. This would deliver a rich variety of games and could breathe new life into the industry. These studios also mean potential employment for at least some seeking to work at a studio (like graduates and the self taught... if given the chance).

Nintendo... you have the right notion with the indie webpage, but go full throttle with it man!

What do I see when I look at http://www.nintendo.com/eshop/indie? I see promise, but Nintendo SHOULD push forward and give indie an unleashed page to showcase ALL the offerings available. The more shine indie developers have, the more appealing it will be to develop... for Nintendo platforms.

Consider this a suggestion on how to improve on a pretty cool thing... which should be exclusive to indie games, because 1st party and bigger studios usually have the opportunity to gain more shine else where, so why not make an exclusive page for indie (without any other games getting in the way)?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars... how I wish we could get a full fledged experience on the Wii U.

Sony made a move back in 2010 with a free-to-play game titled "Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures", which is still available for you to enjoy on PC (for a limited time)... and I think that a Wii U title with the charm of Guild Wars... would be sweet (on the console). There would be plenty of creative ways to display the UI on the gamepad, solar systems, etc. It doesn't even have to be an MMO (although that would be nice if done right)... it could be a really cool/fun online co-op, either way... they could present the game in a variety of ways possibly utilizing assets from the popular show. If Disney wants to talk... they know where to find us. : p

Star Citizen & Squadron 42 have to be brought up, because this initiative is just amazing (the level of detail is very appealing to me). If Roberts Space Industries is able to bring Squadron 42 to consoles, that would be nice, and going back to the Wii U gamepad... it would allow for a deeper experience. RSI could even partner with Disney to bring an awesome online experience of Star Wars to consoles (if they don't wish to take the other route). You never know, but consider this a yadda.

PC gamers... here are a few pc games on sale through March 24th (2014):

Shadow Warrior
Hitman: Absolution
Sleeping Dogs

GameStop, you better watch your back... Wal-Mart is making a move soon!

I applaud Wal-Mart for getting into the game trade-in biz (even if we don't approve of some of their other moves), but... it's good to have more than a few options to avoid monopolies. If Wal-Mart is being truthful, they plan to pay more than any other business out there for trade-ins, and charge less for used games.

I think this is great, even if I prefer to buy new, but on this note... Nintendo-Demand will contact Wal-Mart to see if they would be interested in selling reprints, because there are some games we can't get a hold of without paying an arm and a leg. Reprints would allow for studios to make money, and they can do reprints based on demand for select games or something... at a decent price. Make the right moves Wal-Mart, and this could be a really good thing!
