A perfect example of this (again) is EA's NBA Live 14 vs 2K Games NBA 2K14... I believe without a shadow of a doubt, if EA's game was on the Wii U only... the Wii U would get the blame for that game's lack of luster (though I've heard some WOWs about "Pure Chess" recently from a few nay-sayers who are very critical of the Wii U).
Are we seeing a bunch of videos powered by the Monkey see monkey do engine? It's a possibility... but the fact I've seen a slew of videos that sound like "ok... I want to make one too" (not necessarily from many gamers in Japan), makes me wonder (more and more)... "How many of these videos are valid based on someone simply disliking the system?".
I can't ignore the fact that some YouTubers are paid to be bias... so who knows if some are expressing dislike or hate for a paycheck beyond being genuinely displeased... or pointless fanboys of other systems that aren't exactly focusing that attention on the consoles they like or on genuine concerns for a console they are invested in or wish to invest in. Someone is more than within allowed to express themselves, but it just makes a lot more sense (to me) when it's valid.
I have seen people light up and get freaking excited about the Wii U, after ACTUALLY playing on the console, resulting in a purchase or giving up on their rants about the system.
I was a fool, and I apologize Nintendo. -MistaDontPlayTV
If you plan on getting your hands on DKC: Tropical Freeze... you don't have that long of a wait, its headed our way Feb.21st, 2014.
Nintendo will continue to do what they do, but other developers and haters can't really knock the company for their style if other developers are known and respected for theirs.
Would Sony & Microsoft before worse off if they didn't have heavy 3rd party?
@Developers: You actually make it harder on yourselves IF you put a 1st party in the position to where they have no choice but to adapt to something in a way that makes them require less and less 3rd party support. If other 1st party developers follow suit for the sake of profit (because Nintendo makes plenty of it), where does that leave 3rd party developers? Most likely NOT in a position where you are being paid incentives to have a game released on a specific console... just something to think about. ;)
