If you haven't heard... Ken Levine is taking another route on a smaller scale (with a smaller team via 2K Games), and wants to take a step back... in a sense (with narrative driven digital-only games for the core audience).
I think the remaining team should instead bring in someone else (versus closing the doors), and take a new direction with Irrational Games based on what they're known for via what they can afford (to keep things running)... beyond other surprises.
I can't get mad at Ken, I wish him well and look forward to the games they deliver. BioShock won't be lost, but lets hope the next team to develop a title... remains open for quite awhile.
We might be getting a Humble Bundle sooner than later... full of BioShock games and DLC (maybe... maybe not), but this is another AAA developer going goodbye, and smaller initiatives are coming in (that may produce small to large scale titles).
On to some good news! If you buy Nintendo eShop cards from BestBuy between Feb. 23rd - March 1st (2014), you will save 20%.
It doesn't hurt to save something on your eShop fix if you've planned on making some purchases soon, and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze comes out Friday (Feb. 21, 2014)... not to mention Professor Layton & the Azran Legacy (Feb. 28, 2014). Take advantage if you can, because it doesn't hurt to save a few dollars here and there, and if you get Professor Layton at the link below... you will only pay $29.99 instead of $39.99. Game on!
