Titanfall, should you get it? Answer that for yourself... and not because of COD either!

I say might be, because I can't dump on Call of Duty: Ghost for the sake of making another game look good (and that has a single player campaign), but it has a similar fast paced feel... granted Respawn's founders were part of the reason COD grew into a big deal (to the fanbase).

I will get into the topic by saying... play both games for the sake of receiving two different experiences. The same should be done with all games that aren't direct sequels of other games, or else you kind of rob yourself of an experience by focusing on how much a game isn't like another. Titanfall (to me) feels as if it would be enjoyed a lot more on PC (using 3 monitors, sound system, and some serious card power).

I felt that this game would be a nice experience on the Wii U as well... if actually released on the console (but the excuses have been almost endless from EA about more than a few things), because there could have been some serious innovation with the Wii U game pad. The UI and chat system could've enhanced the online game play greatly and really played on the use of the titans. We could've had an alternate cockpit view, map view, quick load out for the various options in the game, etc.

It's cool though, if you plan to get the game, its available on what it's available for, but the most cost effective option is the PC version (if you have the power and the space to handle it) if you don't mind using Origin... since you won't have to worry about paying a monthly fee to play online, but take your pick... and game on. The second best option in my opinion is the Xbox 360 (instead of the Xbox One's version), because if the best they can do on the new console is deliver the game at native 792p (which may be the highest)... why go that route if you don't have the console? If you don't have either console, want to check out the experience... the Xbox 360 is lower in price... you will get the same experience in game play... and the audience is bigger.

EA pulled a crappy move on Sony the way they did with Nintendo (by flocking to Microsoft for the sake of incentives), and you know its for the sake of the XB1 gaining growth over the competition (that's business) beyond EA's Origin user base growing on PC.

I hope the game doesn't come chock full of problems, and just allows for those spending money on it (to support the developer and publisher) to just be able to have a great time without the headaches (or at least very... VERY few). The downloadable version should be at least $5 less though (there was no manufacturing and distribution through physical shipping involved in that)... lets see if the price is justified with the lack of a single player campaign. Vince Zampella feels that Microsoft is a great place to start up a game's franchise... but he didn't seem to know that the game wouldn't be available for the PS3 or PS4 until recently, and a sequel will be released on the PS4.

If it matters to you, get the game on one of the platforms its available for... or just shrug it off and play something else. EA may have pissed off quite a few gamers with this move... but if you aren't familiar with their track record... its not exactly a shock. Previous problems include buggy games, DRM issues (which SIMCITY has finally been set free of... to go offline), and Dungeon Keeper's rating restrictions based on the games quality... haven't exactly made the company ineligible for this years golden poo award. So you know what you may be dealing with until the company truly learns their lesson in terms of business practices and quality assurance. This isn't for the purpose of bashing EA more so than it is to call them out on what anyone deserves to be called out on if they just don't seem to want to fly right according to the support they are getting.

I want supporters to have a great experience with no problems, but as mentioned in a previous post... I don't think Respawn would risk their new IP being a disastrous flop based on poor quality. So I am optimistic that it will be good (the multiplayer better be full of awesomeness to round out the game and it's lack of a single player campaign, some don't care about that but some do... like myself), and may their publisher join the bandwagon... in more ways than one (do it for the gamers).

(The Collector's Edition retails for $250... which is a pretty penny, but if you are willing to get it versus a second game console... enjoy. The figuring looks pretty sweet, and I know some people are passionate about figurines, so it's worth it to some.)
