EA didn't have to require Origin for Titan Fall, but I would've been shocked if they didn't. Lets just say... it would've been out of character for them.

They are trying to build up the strength of their online platform though, and if they are trying to take that route with PC from now on... then Origin would be the only route to access newer games (even to a fault).

As far as the game itself, it doesn't stop someone from using Origin... but sales will be lost because it requires Origin. Steam is definitely a bigger community, and even if they could've gained sales via Steam, they are likely willing to sacrifice those sales to boost their community (and the profit shares are bigger... per sale this way).

Thinking about it further... they wanted Origin on Nintendo... and I wouldn't be surprised if they ditched consoles all together once the community is big enough. Nothing to quote me on... but I wouldn't be surprised.

Overall, if you're getting the game... enjoy! I trust that Respawn Ent. wouldn't risk their game being an incomplete release... especially since they likely want to show up Activision (based on what happened between them).
